COMPLETE & PARTIAL DENTURES

FIND QUALITY COMPLETE AND PARTIAL DENTURES IN BROCKVILLE AND NEARBY AREAS

When you’re dealing with dentures, you’re looking at two different types: complete and partial dentures. You have various scenarios when you would need one or the other. When all your teeth are missing, you would turn to complete dentures, whereas when you only have some natural teeth remaining, you would choose partial dentures. With partial dentures, they not only fill in the spaces created by any missing teeth, they also help prevent your other teeth from shifting over time causing more problems down the road. Whether you need partial or complete dentures, Brockville Denture Clinic can help!

Conventional or Immediate Dentures

Complete dentures can be either conventional or immediate. But, what is the difference?

Here are a few points about a conventional denture to keep in mind, such as:

  • Dentures are made after teeth have been removed from having been missing for years or having been recently extracted
  • Once teeth are extracted before beginning the process of making a conventional denture, the gum tissue must heal usually about 4 to 6 weeks

During this healing period, the patient will go without teeth, and this is when immediate dentures come into play. They are:

  • Made ahead of time
  • Immediately placed after the teeth removal to prevent the patient from having to be without teeth

While your tissues heal, we will need to make adjustments, and once the tissue is fully healed, we recommend you have a conventional denture made for you.

Overall, dentures are very durable appliances that will last many years. However, due to normal wear, you may have to bring them in to get them re-made, repaired, or readjusted.
